As someone who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s I remember pretty vividly my Parents and Grandparents worrying over what their phone bill would be each month. They seldom made long distance calls.
If my Grandparents were still alive they wouldn’t understand how people casually drop the amount of money they do each month on phones, internet, and streaming services.
financial slavery. all the people bitching about not being able to afford anything on a small wage pays for ~3 streaming services, new phone yearly, new shoes yearly, new clothes yearly, absurd internet bills and phone bills, just to name a few
people dont understand the concept of living modestly
One set of my Grandparents actually didn’t even have a phone. If we wanted to talk to them we had to swing by their house. If they had a true emergency they went to a neighbor who had a phone. And, they seemed pretty content almost all the time.
Privacy meant something back then. Private communication was through a wire and not the atmosphere. Through chicanery, the Cabal has tricked everyone with the digital information age. IMHO, the old laws against wiring tapping and preserving individual privacy preserves our freedom. They have never really been overthrown, but rather the public has been tricked in believing they no longer exist. This essentially parallels Trumps recent announcement on Internet rights.
