Conspiracy Analysts have been saying for years that Gold and rare minerals was the main reason that aliens visited the earth thousands of years ago and these visitors built the impossible monolithic structures that remain until today.

It is also the root of Colonialism, those Aliens came, conquered and looted the planet. (That last bit is all mine)
