Were they forced to become... Whatever they are... after the release of Jupiter Rising?

I'm asking because the way both Wachowski bros changed seemed awfully sudden and looked, to me at least, to put them forth to humiliate themselves.

Yeah I am wondering what that is all about as well and context of current political upheavals happening now because of trans issues in sports etc.
