Partially right. They had influence but didn't have total control until well into the 1900's. Case and point Pious 10th was so anti cabal/modernist he said they should be beaten and put down. It took time to get their commies through seminary. We still had openly anti-communist and anti NWO Popes popping up all the way to JP2. But ever since right before Vatican 2 they've basically had total infiltration and control unfortunately.
