Um, actually yeah it was. Many were cutting themselves and turning to drugs. There were a few suicides in my hometown too.

This...was not a goth exclusive or even all encompassing goth thing.

A lot of the cutters I met ended up putting an image of goth because it gave them an excuse to wear fashion that hid it.

The ones that focused on cutting their legs as the "smarter, sneakier" approach never went down that road in my experience.

As for drugs, really?! Shit was done by all types of people, still is.
