Some of the goth kids around me ended up with giant holes from guages in their ears, nose, or lip and face tattoos. Not as severe but still a body transformation that can affect you later in life.

And they didnt rape kids, but I had to worry about making a KTP list in school. Is rape worse than murder? Pretty equally bad imo..

So no they arent exactly the same thing, but it's a pretty decent metaphor.
