I'll never drive a car that can be shut down remotely because a nameless, faceless bureaucrat decides that I don't get to drive anymore. I'll ride a dirtbike in the street before I drive an EV (or even a combustion car with a remote killswitch)..
I'm surprised no entrepreneur has tried designing a simple car, something with few frills. I imagine it would actually be quite popular with over-50's. Automatic transmission, power windows, yeah. But carburetor, direct-link power steering, stuff like that. Just a basic car.
I think that would definitely be profitable. Much easier to maintain too, without all the computers and proprietary junk designed to make money for the dealerships.
