Seeking to secede because the elected lawmakers would not do their job, and were allied with and taking orders from foreign and domestic enemies intent on subverting and destroying the USA.
That seems credible to me.
Yes, as a Californian, I believe the group is sincere and serious in the intent to allow the will of the citizens to prevail. According to the plan, "Old California will be a tiny fraction of counties and the New California state will be the majority. Here is a link to the proposal:

I agree it's a credible cause. I'd be all for it. But it's not likely to happen anytime soon. It will take fanning that fire with multiple people, planning, execution and it will NOT happen overnight. I stand by my opinion. It seems like a calculated act to either draw attention to their cause or take away traction and discussion from the larger issue- the Brunson case
