churches, especially mega-churches, are primed and ready for demonic takeover at any time. it takes constant vigilance by the congregation, with no sycophants, no pastor-worship, strict following of the bible.
it only takes one little inch of compromise for the dam to break and demonic forces to gain total control.
i was going to this church that has a pastor that preaches but also an "executive pastor" who is female, in stark contrast to biblical teachings. she leads a prayer at every service before the sermon, with this sickening moaning half-whisper bedroom voice. it makes me fucken ill.
then when the methodists had their rift they start having a serious conversation about what to do about the whole gay thing. they actually put it to a vote. absolutely shocking. i started attending a different church, a sizeable one that is very faith-based, very biblical, and does modern music, puts on a show yes, but isn't money-hungry, ad-heavy, pseudo-mystical garbage. tastefully dressed women included in the worship team but only for music. good vibes, tons of great people, congregation heavily involved in service with people being engaged in conversation.
livestreamed for the world to see, but if you're there you can just walk up to the pastor and chat after service, heck probably during service, he's not disconnected or insulated or busy. he floats around the room after service and will talk to anyone. and he features various pastors from around, not trying to be a one-man show at all.
no offering plate passed. the bulletin has a link where you can give online and it also has information for the donation boxes. my favorite thing is they have a drop box like a bank's night deposit box where you can give secretly, keeping with Jesus' instruction of "not letting the right hand know what the left hand is doing" when it comes to giving.
i have someone close to me that, at his church, he nonchalantly tosses a 100 bill in the plate every week, and sits right at the front so it gets in there first. I do enjoy the whole, passing the plate and putting big bills in that sometimes spur people into healthy competition, going hard for the Lord. at the same time i worry about possible envy caused seeing it. i've definitely been young looking at big bills in the plate with saucer plates for eyeballs, thinking of gaming consoles. lol
