Well that is good news...open carry still needs a permit. If you can legally buy a gun you can conceal carry.

Georgia is an open carry state, allowing any lawfully owned handgun to be carried openly or concealed in most public spaces and without any permit.

We live in Georgia and my husband carries and I have to say I disagree based on the information he gave me. Are you from Georgia? Where did you get that info from?

I Googled it and see where you got that info from but he still maintains you need a license for open carry...he maintains Google is incorrect. You need a Georgia WCL to open carry.

"Google" isn't your source. Look at the actual laws and see what they say.

https://handgunlaw.us/ is a good source to make it easy to compare states, with direct quotes and references to the statutes themselves.
