A law passed in Alabama's most recent legislative session will allow gun owners to carry a concealed firearm without a permit starting January 1, 2023. The bill, which was passed by the Alabama House of Representatives and Senate earlier this year and signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey on March 10, removes the requirement for a person to obtain a concealed carry permit to carry a loaded weapon.
The Alabama Sheriffs Association and several other local law enforcement agencies opposed the legislation, stating that it could allow dangerous criminals to bypass background checks or other security measures. Despite the opposition, Lawrence County Sheriff Max Sanders supported the measure, stating that the Second Amendment is a right granted by the Constitution that citizens should not have to pay for. Alabama will be the 23rd state to allow permitless carry when the law takes effect.
I love!!!! The picture of a mother pushing a stroller with her concealed carry! At least she feels comfortable and secure protecting her baby!
