This depends on how "black and white" the evidence is. If it's more "he funded gain of function through universities here that had connections to Wuhan and then blah blah blah" it is going to be ignored. The cognitive dissonance is very, very strong. Especially when understanding the truth will require people to believe they may have done potentially fatal harm to themselves and their loved ones.
