I played high school baseball at a very competitive North Carolina school. We were nationally ranked and won several titles. I was at practice one day and we had a couple of pro players stop by and they were tossing balls and chatting with us. Then one had the pitcher throw him a few balls so he could hit some dingers.
On his third pitch the pro hit the ball and it went straight at the pitcher and hit him in the chest. The kid dropped immediately and died. It was the most shocking thing I'd ever seen in my life. The pro ended up shooting his wife and then taking his own life a year later. It was awful.
