  1. There will never be 218 votes for Jeffries (but dang, doesn't it show that the Dems have absolute control over their caucus where the GOP is splintered by the RINO/Conservative divide)

  2. Jordan was right to outwardly support McCarthy, even knowing that McCarthy didn't have the votes to win; and he's right to continue expressing his support because it works either way. Either McCarthy wins in the end and Jordan remains in his good graces, or more votes switch to Jordan precisely because he says he isn't pursuing the job. Win/Win for Jordan.

  3. Trump is right to outwardly support McCarthy because it is still very likely he becomes Speaker and any Trump return to power needs a friendly House leader. BUT, any assurances he may have gotten from McCarthy in their call can easily be renegged by McCarthy after he gets the Speakership.

  4. House members are all scrambling to say whatever they must to be assured of committee appointments in the event McCarthy pulls this out.

  5. It goes without question that the country would be better off if Jordan - or Scalise - was Speaker. We have some say in this, reach out to your GOP Congressman to let them know what we want.

  6. The holdouts will inevitably strike deals for their votes. But again, I wouldn't put it past the RINOs to reneg on whatever promises they make.

  7. It shows how much McCarthy and the RINOs don't want to work with the true conservatives that the RINOs are now seeking to give something to Dems to vote for McCarthy. Think about that.
