So my son was just diagnosed. He'll get an MRI soon. He's had a couple bouts of delusion which resolved after a few days, or a few weeks, but have gotten worse. It's similar to watching a dementia patient lose their connection to reality, but accelerated and in a healthy-looking very fit young man. Or maybe like the Flowers for Algernon story. It's a horrible sad thing to see a wonderful young man lose his sanity and start babbling incoherently.
Anyway, I'm torn up inside about it. And dealing with it. I'm asking for help from anons that might know good treatments, from MMS/chlorine dioxide, ivermectin, gut-brain connections, old pre-Rockefeller treatments, that sort of stuff. He's not vaxxed, early 20's, has been high-functioning autistic (never treated with drugs like ritalin/oxycontin) ever since infancy (mmr vaccine?), and otherwise healthy although he's had a cough and stomach issues with his recent weeks of spiralling out of mental control. In a way the diagnosis is a good thing, just because I know what to ask about and possibly get a path forward.
And asking for prayers: I've already seeded the heavens with mine, but more is better. I will be offline for a bit and may not respond quickly, but I'll read all the comments and follow all leads. Thanks, all.
They are dead set on that diagnosis? What you have described leads me to believe it could have been some form of psychosis, I experienced a psychedelic induced psychosis many years ago and a separate incident not involving drugs a year or so after, with the last one i was prescribed Lithium Carbonate and it hasnt changed my personality or anything but makes me feel more grounded and less likely to entertain fantasies that aren’t based in reality.
No, just got it as a preliminary diagnosis yesterday. It was his age, the recurrent cycles, the degree of detachment (severe) and change in personality in recent years, and the sleeplessness, according to the therapist. There's no blood test or anything, it's pretty much based on observed behavior. The MRI is to detect inflammation in the brain, which is another indicator, but not conclusive either.
You should at least ask your doctor to check his Lithium levels so you can rule out a natural Lithium deficiency
Thanks. Will do.
Wish you both the best of luck, definitely focus on the medical stuff first but I will say each time was an intense spiritual battle, there are forces always working, and during these types of episodes you can either be enthralled or enlightened, usually to the point of being incomprehensible to others, luckily I had loved ones around me who recognized they needed to act, they were faced with the same decision you were and i couldn’t imagine it was easy, so I send all my well wishes🙏🏻
There's also a detailed MMPI test which is multiple choice but it is very good at detecting mental illness and categorizing what kind of illness it is.
Good tip. I've upgraded my insurance this year, so I can get stuff like this done. This recent thing was very sudden, seemingly different from a personality trait. But always looking for solutions, and those tests are very good.
Here is a really good video on diet impacts on mental health. It's long but really educational. https://youtu.be/-QUcoBKor9w
