I am sick and tired of how SLOW and STUPID the current verbal voting process is!
WHY cant reps simply push a button or use a phone app and have the vote done in minutes instead of hours??? Same for voting on all bills. So effing lame.

All results appear on big screen in real time. Reps are there in person and can call a foul if there is one. Not talking about mail-in voting here.
I understand. That's a figure of speech. It's obviously not "mail-in voting". Imagine ALL press their buttons, and it shows on the screen: 220 for R, 210 for D. What is everyone supposed to do? Trust that number? Or ask everyone what did you vote and count it again to be sure?
All reps names and votes show on big screen. Not just totals.
That’s a really big screen to show all names at once. And even all names have correct votes, what if the total is wrong? If you find out, it’s not cheating, it’s software glitch. Up until now, you should know them better.
The point is: no matter what way you use, you WILL need to validate the total. And you do it ALL THE TIMES. You won’t trust the number, because it’s too important. If you need to validate the total any way, then do this manual shouting thing. No cheating.
