I trust Trump. But Trump wasn't the one casting the vote, MTG was. Trump could have different reasons for taking his position, but his opinion doesn't carry the same weight of someone who actually has a vote in the matter, like MTG. MTG didn't just voice an opinion, her hand (vote) directly empowered McCarthy- prior to him making concessions.
