It's not just levy money. That is really an additional 'fund raiser' to enrich the public schools. Property taxes are used for the basis of funding public schools. I believe anyone not having children or sending their children to public schools ought not to pay property taxes. Under the guise of compulsory education, the government has stole our property rights from all of us. We no longer truly own the land we paid for when property taxes we imposed. Consider this. Our founding fathers understood how extremely important property rights were that Alexander Hamilton once advocated only property owners should have the right to vote.
