I commented to spouse anon: civilization is going backwards. We could not find in the next generation, anyone who is as classically civilized as previous generations. That is something that must be remedied from the ground up.

E.g. my rural farming ancestors near small villages, played violin, piano, organ, sang choir. Nowadays young ppl, are ignorant of classical music, poetry and literature and their allusions to mythology, etc. People educated in public schools a hundred years ago were more cultured / civilized / educated than today's young adults.

Prove me wrong.
