A snake eating its own tail.

It kind of fits a pattern:

• depopulation of our vassal states is the bestest thing ever (oh wait, not everyone is going for this, we're going to be marginalised by BRICS, we're not going to have anyone to fight to defend us, fuck)
• let's carry out a culture war on men and feminise them out of existence (oh wait, the Russians and the Chinks are on to us and they're not doing as they're told any more, OMG they're taking out our money-laundering vassal states in Ukraine and Taiwan, OMG who is going to fight for us in our forever wars)
• Trump's getting to be a real nuisance, he's showing us up. We're going to do the biggest cheat ever and make everyone believe it's his fault there was no Red Wave. WTF Trump's influence has grown, he's now taken control of Congress! And he's taking the piss with a TGC? Fuck etc

They're not the smartest - they've let their narrative power go to their heads and they don't know that they took the tiger by the tail when they went this way and that the tiger keeps on getting bigger and bigger and angrier and angrier and the second they can't hold on to it anymore - it's going to turn on the cabal and tear them to shreds.

BTW there is an interesting parallel in SciFi about the abuse of narrative power of the cabal. In Dune, the Honored Matres abused sexual power (another think the cabal like to harness) and the Bene Gesserit were horrified about it because they knew that in the long run it would build such a massive unstoppable resentment in their controlled populaces that it would eventually destroy them and unleash chaotic, uncontrollable rage against them.
