I've seen people trying to explain it away by saying the population in Africa is a lot younger since their life expectancy is lower. This could be part of the explanation, but then it begs another question: If this is evidence younger people are at lower risk from Covid, why did we lock everyone down and try to force vaccines on everyone?
We should have followed the Great Barrington Declaration, which suggested younger people should go about our lives as usual and we only isolate the elderly. Once the majority of the younger people had covid, the elderly would be protected by herd immunity. Instead our public health apparatus decided to quarantine everyone to make us all miserable so we'd be more likely to accept the experimental medical products they falsely call vaccines.
The middle of Africa is tropical and they get a lot of tropical diseases there. People are taking Ivermectin and HCQ to prevent diseases, and those medicines appear to affect Covid too. The northern and southern parts of Africa are more modern and populated and they took a lot more vaccines. The death rate in countries such as South Africa is markedly higher than the less civilized middle countries.
I saw a side-by-side map comparison. In the first, all the countries in the world with Covid cases were colored (e.g.) blue. In the second, all the countries in the world with malaria were colored red. There was no overlap. The malarial countries commonly used chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine to combat malaria. HCQ happens also to be a zinc ionophore---something that increases the permeability of cell membranes to the zinc ion. The presence of the zinc ion within a cell defeats a virus's replication mechanism. (This was the chief insight of Dr. Vladimir Zelenko. His protocol included HCQ and zinc.) That, and the African peoples tend to be a hardy lot, while Covid-19 was not really distinguishable from the flu.
Finally, thanks to Bill Gates's previous forays into pandemic tinkering, his name is regarded as a dark omen for any vaccination campaign. Plenty of Africans have bad memories of previous disastrous vaccinations. Plenty of skepticism.

Valid observations.
