I used to listen to him daily(a couple of years before Rush). He was all over Feinstein, Boxer, Willie Brown and the rest of the shit heads in S.F. way back then. I just realized I have been based for over 40 years! Thank you Jim Eason, you saved my life!!

This segment on the page u/AshlandDog linked was really good -
Jim Eason on KGO (Undated; Circa 1970s):
"An undated aircheck featuring Jim Eason on KGO. Courtesy of Barry Salberg".
Oh, my, how radio (and all) journalism has changed (abd NOT for the better)! It's like a perspective from a different planet or dimension.
From Jim Eason's bio on the website:
". . .,
Now the radio station is a public forum for all sides of an issue and we're merely moderators or reactors and not wise-acres or ideoligists. We don't beat people up verbally.
A self-labelled "information junkie", Eason's secret of success lies in his own formula, "Three things are essential: you must inform, you must educate, you must entertain. Brighten people up. Shake heads a little. To those three requirements add variety and surprise. Never allow an audience to think it knows what's going to happen next."
"Eason's secret of success" is a formula which still holds true today....
God bless you for your readership and encouraging words....
I started listening to him when I was 22 years old. My thoughts are, I owe this man. When your are young and easily swayed, it's so easy to choose the wrong path.
