There was no one there. I immediately prayed and asked God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit to come in, just in case thats what it was.
So, I rewound the audio Bible. No knocks there, either. It was Numbers.
Then I found this while looking up "Bible two knocks"
Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
I haven't gotten that far in the Bible yet! I may have heard that verse before but never ruminated on it.
It was a profound experience for me, wanted to share and ask you guys if you'd experienced anything like this.
Apologies for my absence, by the way. I've taken a break to work on myself and to try to find/strengthen my faith.
The Bible is not mystical. God does not visit people, nor does Jesus, nor does the Holy Spirit. However once a person believes, the Holy Spirit dwells in the believer, and Jesus is with us until the ‘end of the age’.
God speaks to believers through His word.
I have to say I believe God and angels sometimes do visit us. I'm not over zealous with religion as I think man has corrupted the Bible, but I do believe there is a higher power that guides us all if we simply stop and listen.
Absoulutly ,, Jesus does visit people and Angels visit peopke in human form ! Jesus came and visited with the disciples and they thought he was a ghost , he had already been killed crucified and he came back for a very short time ,, if he did it then he can do it now and does , I’ve never seen Jesus but I do believe the thousands of testimony’s of people who have .. not saying all are true but for sure some are ,, showing up in hospital rooms and being told they would be healed and then Drs saying it is impossible thst they are alive etc ,
Yes, there are many testimonies of Muslims who had dreams of Jesus or saw Jesus and decided to follow the Messiah. I believe there are still supernatural experiences that God uses in answer to people’s prayers. I couldn’t go to the Muslim people and share Jesus in person but I have definitely prayed for them to walk into his marvelous light and I believe these experiences are answers to the prayers of many believers. Paul saw Jesus after he ascended and it changed his life.
So true , you planted seeds ( prayers for Muslims) and someone else watered ,, I know many Muslim testimonies as well! An older woman from my church tells the story exactly the same everytime she shared it , she moved here from Iran but first Jesus appeared to her she accepted him anc no one can tell her he isn’t real , many others tell stories that are amazing , or Jesus walking in hospital rooms , there are thousands of stories ,,, as I said some may be drug induced or whatever but not all . I’ve seen a huge Angel I was with an unbeliever she is still freaked and knows it’s true u couldn’t explain away what we saw , I also saw one in a human form and I was amazed at what happened ,, driving home still in disbelief of what I saw , it hit me that it was an angel I started praising God and the glory of his presence filled my car I’ll never forget it it was about 30 years ago
Yes this! BE open to that still small voice.... God is with us. We sometimes don't listen. Our EGO gets in the way.
This. I know God is there- He literally stepped into my heart one day and took me back. I pray for discernment because I think you’re right- the Bible has been corrupted but I don’t know to what length. By accident due to poor translations? Or intentionally to hide some truths from us? I believe a combination of both. But I know God is true, and I rely upon Him.
The Bible HAS NOT BEEN CORRUPTED....Some versions water things down...Like the NIV does. However ALL of the original source materials used are still available. This is an excuse to avoid reading it altogether.
Um, no... it isn’t an excuse.... just a statement of what I think. I’m reading through the Bible as we speak. Just because I think some of it may be corrupted doesn’t mean I think it is devoid of value. I pray for discernment and i ask God to guide my understanding.
I’ve read through the about half the Bible before, but did not complete my journey... which is why I’m doing it again. At the end of it all, I may very well change my opinion.
One thing I took for the first (incomplete) journey is how relevant the Bible is to my life today. When I was a kid, I looked at it like “old stories”... it’s so much more meaningful now. Since opening my eyes more... it is even more relevant, and that is why I’m starting over, because I know I’ll learn more as I see it differently due to current events.
Don’t leap to conclusions- you sound bitter. We are all on a journey of understanding.
Timelines and chronology in the Bible have been altered by early translators to cast doubt but to those that are faithful it means little. Nothing doctrinally has been changed.
Think about everything you said specifically. When you say “I believe God and angels sometimes do visit us,” you must state when and where. You said, “I think man has corrupted the Bible,”. Please give specific examples of where the Bible is corrupted. Lastly, you said, “I do believe there is a higher power that guides us...”. Why do you believe that?
My beliefs of what you said and why, 1, God and angels have visited us in the past and Jesus Christ, the God-man visited us. However there are no visits after the New Testament was completed. 2nd- I believe the Bible is inerrant in its original manuscripts. Those manuscripts have been accurately translated over the generations, as proven by the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, That said, man is always trying to rewrite God’s Word to suit his own wicked intentions as evidenced by false religions like JWs, Mormons, Scientologists, etc. Lastly, God has given everyone a conscience that informs him/her of sin. Believers have the Holy Spirit indwelling them as a ‘Helper’ to allow them to discern true from false doctrine. The Word of God also provides guidance by which believers are to live their lives.
Dig deeply into your Bible. If you have never read the Bible, start in First John, then 2nd John, then 3 rd John, then the Gospel of John. Find a Church that preaches verse by verse through the New Testament. You will grow in your faith. Blessings to you.
I've had great pain when husband died son in the Army died. I personally was visited. Not just once. So I believe.
Re men corrupting the Bible, the church has hidden what they did not want us to know... men are men and there is corruption in all walks of life. If all men of God were good, there would not be so many molested children and alter boys. Peace my friend.
I'm sorry for your loss. I know it hurts. I agree with your account of the Apostate Church. The Catholic Church says the Pope is head of the Church, but the Bible says that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, and that He will build His Church, and the gates of Hades will not over power it.
I had a friend come to my upstairs apartment that I locked the lower stairwell door cause I knew she would show up on a Friday night, like she did after a few drinks at the bar. I was tired & didn't want to be disturbed. After she started yelling my name for about 10 minutes I rolled over and their was a hologram like woman above me. She never said a word. Then I felt something going throughout my body, it felt glorious. Then she started to fade away,& I said please dont go and she was gone before I got those words out. 21 yrs ago !
