Thanks. I know now.
I was a tourist there. Did not see a military installation. Wonder why.
I’ve been or driven through Fayetteville my entire life and didn’t know this base was different. Fort Bragg base is basically a separate town with in or around Fayetteville city limits, I’m not sure about if it’s part of the city. It’s unlike any military base I’ve seen, It has restaurants and other businesses on the base. There is a free concert on forth of July and I went to see some country artist. When we left the concert late at night we were routed a different way out than we entered. I was very shocked. I don’t anyone in the military. I guess they are stricter with visitors on regular days, IDK. We each had to show our IDs and got a pass. It was very surprising to see McDonald’s and Burger King on our way out. The three other bases in NC aren’t part of the city. I can’t say if they have business on base, I’ve only ridden by them. The old part of base is nice. It has a neighborhood of houses probably built when it was opened. I’m assuming the higher up officers stay in those homes.

Interesting. I was in NC in October but I don't think I noticed anything, just like you said. I passed right by Fayetteville also w/o noticing anything.
If you were on I95 you I don’t believe you would have noticed anything. It was decades ago I drove down I95 to Fayetteville then went west to a car race at Rockingham NC. I remember riding by woods with fence all the way down. I knew it was military because I grew up visiting Jacksonville NC and remember seeing that fencing at Camp Lejeune Marine base. That ancient memory just popped in my head, lol. I honestly don’t know why Ft Bragg is different. One of the mysteries in life.
Aah, I see.
