We were in a drought for years. Those people in the article decided they needed to civilize some of the nicest desert around, even if it meant sucking up the last groundwater and having to have it carried in by truck. Has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with being selfish and heedless, imo, and I feel qualified to sneer at them because I have a cousin who just had to be out there, building a house in the desert. All those people getting away from it all set themselves up to spoil the landscape with a future ghost town.
