You don't have to own a house right out of the gate. The older generations worked up to it over years. I started out renting an old house that was cheap. I then bought a cheap house trailer. After that was paid for, I was going to buy a piece of land for it and build a house later. I got married right when the trailer was paid for, and the wife already had a small house, so I skipped some steps. But you can follow that plan and be well on your way to the home of your dreams in 10 or 15 years. That may seem like a long time to you now, but not in 20 years.
