There's one way to prove it. Go to Antarctica, put a marker on the ice when you get there and then follow the coastline until you get back to the marker. Then tell me how far you travelled.

Someone once did that. They never found the marker after 2 years, and ended up going home.

They say the ice calved but he put the marker into solid ground, not ice.
