Just replicate the experiment of the ancient Greek, Eratosthenes. If we were on a flat disk then the sun would strike all locations at the same time.

No see if you study the flat earth model, the sun shines brighter on one side allowing it to hit the southern hemisphere on a flat disk while also keeping the north pole and the land almost underneath the sun in complete darkness.

If the suns rays are hitting straight = you would be correct. However, the math also works with a closer sun and the rays are hitting >.
