Mask use for viral transmission prevention is authorized by the FDA for Emergency Use only. The FDA Emergency Use Authorization for surgical and/or cloth masks states: "must not state or imply.. that the [mask] is intended for antimicrobial or antiviral protection or related, or for use such as infection prevention or reduction."
