In a financial armageddon scenario, it goes: 1) yourself/family, 2) friends you trust with your life, 3) neighbors you trust, 4) greater community area. If you have pasture-raised chickens and a small veggie and fruit garden, you'll be living like a king. Then the problem becomes protecting all of that from four-legged and two-legged predators alike.
