I've been a happy ebayer for 17 years. Recently they added a new security verification process and I got locked out of my account. No way of getting through to them, so asked someone to send them an email explaining my problem.
After a lot of hassle I managed to speak to someone: No smart phone, no way of getting into my account. Byeeee.
This is the start. More places going cashless in the UK. If you don't comply you are out of the system.

This is the first time you've ever encountered 2 factor authentication before? It's been around for years. It is about security. My local online bank has been using it for years
