Dry or moist at the ground does not necessarily translate into dry or moist at high altitude. Airplanes flying at 40,000 feet are more prone to form contrails than earlier airplanes flying at 30,000 feet. You are going to see contrails in proportion to the air traffic overhead. What are the air routes over central America? I would think not very many. You probably also have different air currents affecting clouds and contrails. When a contrail disperses, it "blankets the sky." It is still all ice crystals. This is called high-altitude haze.
The deliberate programs are a different kettle of fish, use specialized aircraft (not passenger airliners), and are acknowledged. They still cannot cover the sky. I can't imagine what they think they are doing to "fight covid." That would have to be a low altitude program exclusively, below contrail altitudes. Weather modification (cloud seeding) is old hat (dates from 1891) and endangers no one.
Without anything except suspicion and supposition as backing, it is still a foolish belief. And the mods are right to clamp down on it.
Look, I know I'm coming down hard on this, but I am an expert (3 degrees, 40-year career in the industry) and Wigington is a charlatan. He has found videos of aerodynamic phenomena he doesn't understand and used them to lip-synch his own fraudulent narrative. You do know he has a merchandise page? Everyone here has nothing but a bad word for "paytriots," but no critical eye for someone who drums up a false panic and profits from it? I object to my field being occupied by charlatans, and I am frustrated when I try to alert the ignorant and uwary, but they think they know better to trust the charlatan.
Thanks for the thorough response. So the increase in the past 5 years or so just has to do with higher altitude?
First, you have to second-guess whether there really is/was an increase. We can be strongly impressed by the weather, but that is ultimately subjective.
As for influences, 757 and 767 airliners went into service by 1980, the 777 by 1995, and the 787 by the early 2000s. (Similar story for Airbus airliners.) It is then a question of how many routes were served by these aircraft, and how the route pattern evolved over the decades.
But the higher altitudes are at lower pressure and the humidity, while low in absolute terms, may be saturated. Military aircraft (B-52 bombers) were designed to operate at 50,000 feet from the beginning. They were the first aircraft I saw (as a young boy) making contrails.
Your points are somewhat convincing. I'll mull it over. As for no evidence they are causing harm, you could argue there is still no "official" evidence the mrna shots are dangerous as my mother in law is first in line for the new shot when they come out.
I always noticed the skies as I grew up in central America and would visit NM and notice a difference in contrails. I found it fascinating. However in recent years they seem different to me. As in they linger the entire day, which they used to not do, and block out the sun, without it resulting in rains or weather usually associated with cloudiness. You say it's because they fly higher. Also I love being in the sun, as many hours as possible. Just having it blocked out for me is hugely detrimental. But maybe it's just vapor. I'm still not convinced but I appreciate your measured and detailed responses.
Edit: furthermore there are those that would argue light pollution is not a thing as it could be reversed but the fact remains that it is and affects our circadian rhythm. There is no denying that even you don't believe the trails have undesirable chemicals, they do seem to block out the sun and also affect our relationship with it.
Well, the suspicion for the mRNA shots rightly began with the dishonest derogation of treatment with hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and ivermectin (IVM). I followed the discovery by Didier Raoult that HCQ was effective---later followed by the parallel insight by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko that a treatment with zinc, HCQ, and azithromycin could be effective. Then followed the obviously contrived negative studies of HCQ (which had to be withdrawn) and the outrageous propaganda that HCQ was dangerous. My wife's family is in Zambia, and there they self-medicate with HCQ against malaria. Almost like taking aspirin. No harm. Used in millions of doses/year as treatment for lupus in the U.S., with no problems. Safe to be prescribed for pregnant mothers. At this point, my ears were up regarding everything pertaining to Covid-19. The nature of the mRNA "vaccine" was also totally suspect. So, there was plenty of practical evidence that we were being given misinformation, and that is enough to refuse the shot completely. Not to mention the violations of the Nuremberg convention on crimes against humanity by urging an experimental treatment for which there was no vendor liability.
That aside, I find it very curious that you feel the trails are blocking the sun. Are they not white? You have to realize that the whiteness of the trails comes from scattered sunlight, not from any opaque pigment. You are still getting the sunlight, although some is being reflected into space. But the same can be said of ordinary clouds. (By the way, rains and weather associated with ordinary clouds occur under 30,000 feet, usually much lower. Those clouds are water droplets. The contrails are ice crystals.) It might be interesting to get a photographer's light meter to make comparative measurements of (say) the zenith illumination on various days---but after reading up on them, it doesn't seem that they are set up for such straightforward readings. (In the right position and altitude, such high contrails could catch the light of the setting sun, which is already shifted toward the red-yellow end of the spectrum.)
Like I said, where I live, we have clouds that block out the sun to a great degree, perhaps 50% or more blocked. Total sky coverage. Not always. But it causes no health problems. Our circadian rhythms are the same, since there IS daylight, dim though it may be. And that is not really all that dim, since the human eye can adapt to very low light levels. You will therefore have to pardon my dismissal of that as a problem. I've lived it for 70 years, and that is the farthest from my problems.
If the watchword is "Question everything!" then it is doubly necessary to question those who are promoting paranoia and menace. There are plenty of authentic menaces around, without distracting ourselves by imaginary ones. Cheers, and thanks for the conversation.
