Back in 1923 they also thought blood letting was legit, that women needed to be masturbated by doctors to relieve them from hysteria, and that adding radium to water made for an excellent energy drink.
Whether viruses are real or not, trying to push that as a truth through a meme referencing 1920's medicine probably isn't going to get any traction.
No one used leeches in 1923.
And literal snake oil, shock treatments and lobotomies.
Do me a favor. Go research the earliest cases of smallpox and come back to me with how long ago they were recorded.
And then we'll have a discussion about how people actually could invent them that far back.
