Tar in the lungs from the way tobacco burns. It's not a big quandary. Why do you think cancer rates went down when they introduced filtered cigarettes?
And cancer has been around for thousands of years, there are many descriptions of even native Americans dying from cancer like lung illnesses.
Tobacco is meant to be chewed, or as a salve, not smoked. No duh, smoke in your lungs of any kind is not good. If used that way (and not abused!) It is probably ok overall. I don't know the stats on filters though, maybe you could enlighten me.
Also, I am not trying to bust your balls, but look into it. It's been a medicinal plant forever. Tons of alkaloids. around 10,000 I believe.
