I think the majority of women would be happy to be a homemaker if their husband earned more money, but they are not willing to make the financial sacrifices needed to live on a single income (ie, move away from families to inexpensive areas, only have one car, etc). When I first started staying at home, we made a lot of financial sacrifices. Since I was always home with the kiddo, my husband was always able to travel for work. Many of his co-workers could not travel due to child care issues. Thanks to his flexibility, my husband was able to move up the ladder and eventually make enough to support us comfortably.
Its just intellectually lazy, It just fits men and women into a format of power relationships, thats all.
I'm not sure I follow your point. Would you mind clarifying?
