I read the ingredients list at my local TS a few months back... this feed now contains Maltodextrin. The FDA classes it as a "fiber" but I can tell you without Mike's assessment that this ingredient destroys gut flora - destroying the chickens (and yours) ability to absorb nutrients. I'm sure Mike will find issues like low protein content and probably high aluminum content...
the feed also contains soy meal... (disrupts endocrine system)
This is why you should always read ingredients lists - even with the food you buy for yourself. Maltodextrin has been added to many foods and supplements in the last few years. I can't find condensed milk without it. Polaner added it to their "high fiber" all fruit. It's also in most ricotta cheese and ice cream.
even google admits this about maltodextrin:
simple rule of thumb: if it is a highly manufactured ingredient - it is bad for you and your animals.
