Ummm... when was that? Absolutely not. I'm a space nerd and I know of no instance where film was destroyed by radiation. The film used in the cameras was specially coated to protect against radiation damage, and the cameras were also shielded to minimize exposure. Additionally, the cameras were not left on the lunar surface for extended periods of time, so the amount of radiation they were exposed to would have been vanishingly small. Tthe Apollo spacecraft and the astronauts themselves were also equipped with radiation shielding to protect them from solar radiation during their journey to and from the Moon.
Of course only what is made public and official could have happened...
It's usually the things that are done that aren't made public that cause rumor-mills to go of on a tangent, having enough official documentation is rarely the cause of any such thing...
