Is the Japanese PM the only one who didnt wear a hat?
Why would non-Jews partake in this Jewish religious practice and why would even Jews allow for non-Jews to take part in something they claim is a sacred part of their religion?
For politicians it is definitely for show ... Probably something nefarious now that I understand more. But when I visited Jerusalem, I went to the wall and I am a Christian....I prayed at the wall and sought God's guidance in my life. I chose to look at it as a spiritual thing, not a religious thing.
I’m female- so potentially different.... and honestly, I don’t recall. Having said that- I would have if needed.... it is just about covering the head, and even some Catholics do that. I don’t tie it to just Jewish tradition.
Outside of a show of allegiance, it seems odd and almost absurd in any other context. I guess I'm not a ceremonial kind of guy. Don't know enough about the official aspects of religious garb, but if I adhered to a religion that integrated it into my worship I'd find it antithetical to my beliefs to hand out the uniform willy nilly. Gauche, really.

White hats... black hats...
What is the significance?

But did you don a hat that is not of your religious background to pray at that wall?

Yeah, strikes me as weird.
