Cocaine Cowboys 2 goes into detail about how close he was to getting kidnapped by Colombian drug gangs. They sent 4 people after him. Two drove around in the getaway van, and two (a man and a woman) posed as a couple. One day he was out walking his dog and one of the kidnappers (the female) got so close to Jr that she pet his dog. They were about to snatch him and a cop coincidentally pulled up on the street, so they bailed out. Then one of the people involved in the plot chickened out and ratted them out, so they never got to kidnap him.
