Maybe "this" is the "climate change" they are warning us about.

THE old cold weather didn't cause strokes. I worked outside in the winter of 76/77. Now that was a cold winter - even froze over the mighty Ohio River.

There were snow piles still melting in parking lots around these parts of NE OH in May of '77.
