Just like everything else, Taliban started off as patriots in Afghanistan, representing the popular views of the majority of the populace, weaponised by CIA, de-weaponised under Trump, now doing what most Afghans think is best for their country. And no, the elites in Kabul are not representative of an average rural Afghani.
