would need to understand the history behind the price controls but generally it has been done to benefit farmers. I agree it is stupid but it is also stupid for Senators like Grassley to push for clogging fuel injectors with ethanol to benefit US farmers

It's the dairy cartel in Canada in this case. There are three cartels up here: dairy, maple syrup, telecom.
