Slow creep away /distraction from building personal interaction (face to face) skills, accountability, responsibility TV… ate up our fleeting hours when our kids were small.. watch a sitcom instead of playing a board game, cards, going outside Video games…. Endless hours wasting away time to keep from falling in the “pit” Walkie talkies… wireless long range comm CB… “handle” the first dabble at social anonymity. I can be who ever I want, say whatever I want (alter ego) Cellphones… anyone can find you at anytime, anywhere. Used to enjoy going to the store alone with my thoughts. Cable TV… personalized in entertainment iPod… personalized music Social media… only put forth the image you want others to see.
VR… individual interactive entertainment
All building to people becoming islands not attached to any particular people, locations or things unless it’s deemed “cool” or the latest and greatest. Greed. Envy.
Yeah, I was never big into TV, but I can see where most people were. I have no children, but I always hated seeing my friends and family so absorbed in their TV or electronics that they tell their kids leave me alone I'm watching my program (Or playing my game, etc)
I am a very talkative person and I'd love to have children of my own to teach God and life to. I noticed over the years that interacting with your kids teaches social skills and increases intelligence.
Now with Cellphones and Tablets non-human to human contact is prevalent. I ride the bus for transportation and half of the people are on their cellphones, sometimes way more than half.
