The thought occurred before I read your last sentence! And that brings to mind what Gaddafi said at the UN. "They will sell you the cure" We thought that cure was the vax, but maybe it is the antidote! This explains why it wasn't pushed in Africa too - they don't have the money for either vax or cure.

I have also been positing life extension as a reason to cripple reproduction rates too. It makes sense.
