I was watching feeds on YouTube and was stunned at how a seven or eight story building could just crumble. Man, was the shaking that violent as to cause devastating stress fractures or did the builders not use enough rebar? I'm thinking the latter since the building looked like they were built fifty years ago, while Turkey was under the influence of Russia. Ever seen a Russian built...anything? It does not inspire confidence.
..Turkey goes back to the 11th Century,..so some of those building could be a 1000 yrs old,...who know but,.Remember when the towers on 911 just crumbled into dust ,.3000 people died Who built those ,Turkey,or Russia perhaps,......

I don't know what it's like now, but in the late 80's I was stationed outside of Istanbul. Turkish construction methods were questionable at best.
