They were chosen, originally but God wants all who will have Him and these chosen people did not want anything to do with sharing and teaching others about the Father. They stuck with the Old Testament laws and could not see the FULFILLMENT (Jesus) of those laws and prophecies.
A God who chooses some over others for no particular reason is not very godly or loving. Their God is not my God, I can tell you that much. And Their God is not the heavenly father Christ spoke about.
