I was in a 7.1 and the ground shook for months as it settled back down. My nerves were shot. It took me months to clean up the mess it made of me books, pictures, dishes etc. thankfully our house got a green tag, others weren’t so lucky.
Honestly, I’m no expert but this thread is a little disheartening for me because some of the comments are way out there, even for me. I think it is a natural occurrence. And when the notice came across my earthquake app my first thought was to pray for the victims. Knowing the lack of building codes and poor structures in that part of the world, I knew it would be a terrible loss of life.
Good points, and even though I am a medical professional, I sure as hell don’t trust anything about medicine now :-/
For those who want another good source for earthquakes - QuakeFeed is the one most everyone in my area downloaded after this last big one. (We had a 9.1 in 1964…)
