Jessica Pegula said Tuesday her mother suffered a brain injury after she went into cardiac arrest last year.

Apparently, according to the article. The daughter released the information herself. Maybe she saw what happened in both cases, figured there was correlation and decided it was time to let the public know. The information from the team was more vague.
