They are, and by law all feathers and parts of any federally protected bird must go to the Indian tribes. That's likely why they're being stored in a morgue vs. disposed of. Edit to add: the Indian tribes really need to step up and put an end to this slaying.
I thought eagles were a protected species. Even if not, this should still be criminal! Poor birds! :(

I knew they were the only ones legally allowed to possess eagle feathers. All those birds are a lot of headresses!
Even so, I can't believe they're not outraged at the excessive killing of a revered creature.
You're right, they and a whole lot of others need to decry this.
Now these blasted offshore windfarms are killing whales and doing who knows what to the denizens of the deep.
It all needs to stop!
