People in the Netherlands have been biking - with their kids in tow on the bike, in boxes and in wagons/trailers - in all sorts of weather for quite some time. To an American, it seems like an absolutely sh-tty way to have to commute because we know life can (and should) be different/better/more convenient, but they've been conditioned/trained/brainwashed that it's fine because it's economical/efficient, "everybody does it" and, it's sort of a badge of honor that they can and do do it.
Of course, until a couple years ago, EU countries like the Netherlands were further down the path to the NWO than the US, so there's "that", too, that makes the (seemingly unquestioned) modis operandi even more abhorrent to those who are awake.
